The Gulls showed great character to come back from 2 goals down to win 3-2 and book a mouth-watering Semi-Final clash with local rivals ECU Joondalup.
Armadale took the lead early on through a dubious penalty which was converted by striker Angel Andres Rivera.
The same player scored another penalty soon afterwards and the Gulls were looking down the barrel at 2-0 down.
The lads showed great character as a jinking Daniel Faichney run and cross was headed in at the far post by Jordan Brown.
Then at 2-1, we had potentially a pivotal moment in the game. Matt Worton received his marching orders for a deliberate handball and Armadale were down to 10 men. Armadale keeper and former Gull Yousri Gharsallah preserved Armadale’s lead by saving Tim Hill’s penalty.
The Gulls were not deterred though, kept pushing forward and were level before half-time through Ryan McLaughlin.
The 2nd half was always going to be difficult for Armadale’s 10 men and David Stokoe scored the winner with a looping header.
