Sorrento 20s made it 2 wins in a row following a rampant display and 5-0 victory at Percy Doyle Reserve.

Goal 1:

The Gulls took the lead after only 2 minutes. Daniel Pearce won a corner on the right-hand side. Excellent delivery from the corner saw Bak Garang flick the ball on and Daniel Faichney timed his run perfectly to head the ball into the roof of the net.

Goal 2:

On only the 5th minute the Gulls were 2-0 up following a magnificent team goal. Keeper Matt Giudicatti passed the ball out to the excellent right back Danny Hepworth who took the ball in his stride and started a run down the right beating 3 players and then laying the ball off to Jules Joannides about 20 yards outside the penalty area. Joannides turned left and played the ball to Daniel Faichney advancing from the left back position. Faichney went past one man and laid the ball to Joannides who made an immediate sublime swivel back-flick back to Faichney who beat another man and slotted it past the Rocky keeper with his right foot for a dream start the Gulls.

Goal 3 :

On 28 minutes the Gulls went 3-0 up. Bak Garang closed down the Rocky right back 15 yards outside the penalty area. After intercepting the ball, he ran into the penalty area and smashed the ball into the roof of the net from 10 yards out.

Goal 4 :

On 31 minutes it was 4-0. A quick throw on the left from Daniel Faichney found centre-forward Daniel Pearce. Pearce turned his man and fired a shot from an acute angle which was parried by the Rocky keeper. Faichney who had advanced into the area fired the rebound towards goal but his shot was blocked by the centre-back. The resulting rebound dropped to Joannides who clinically finished into the bottom corner.

The Gulls had several other chances and the half-time scoreline of 4-0 could have been even worse for Rocky.

The second half was one of consolidation for the Gulls. Captain Luke Jones went off after 15 minutes of the second-half and Faichney moved to centre-back.

Goal 5:

The ball broke in midfield to Ethan Casey who played a great through ball to Conor Shimmin. The left winger beat 2 defenders and fired the ball past the Rocky keeper. That concluded a satisfying day for the 20s.
