NPL transfer window: Key ins and outs

On the move: Billy Quinncroft, Steve McDonald and Brian Woodall

Stirling Lions have given their squad an overhaul as they look to climb off the foot of the National Premier Leagues WA table.

The transfer window closed this week with Stirling bringing in nine players and releasing the same number.

New coach Trevor Morgan’s two most notable recruits are both from Sorrento – Danny Jones and Gulls stalwart Steve McDonald.

ECU Joondalup, another club desperate to climb the table, have seen former Perth SC forward Richard Howles join Second Division Quinns. However the Jacks have brought in Billy Quinncroft and Charlie Kenna, who both helped Armadale to Belt Up Cup success last season.

Armadale have signed two players registered at overseas clubs – Uriel Macias from Colorado Springs Switchbacks and Moez Aloulou, who was with Jordanian outfit That Ras FC.

Balcatta have recruited former Stirling goalkeeper Lewis Italiano after a brief spell at A-League side Newcastle Jets, Inglewood have brought back Brian Woodall from Bayswater City, while a player leaving the NPL WA is Floreat Athena’s Calvin Whitney, who has signed for NPL Victoria’s Bentleigh Greens.
